With some 30 years of experience in higher education, Ron has served in a variety of leadership roles. He was vice president of Business and Continuing Education at Baltimore City Community College where he worked closely with the city's healthcare community to increase the number of entry level workers and also provided training to upgrade skills of existing healthcare workers.

Most recently, Ron served as vice president of Student Services at Burlington County College in southern New Jersey. And prior to his work at BCCC, was dean of Workforce Development at Anne Arundel Community College.

Throughout his career, he as been a member of numerous education and economic development committees across the State of Maryland and remains active in that role today. Ron holds a doctorate in higher education administration from the American University, a master's in counseling and student development from Bowie State University and a bachelor's degree in management from York College of Pennsylvania.

Recognized for contributions to the field of workforce and career development, Barbara has more than 20 years of experience managing and directing programs that address the needs of business and industry. Her background also includes extensive knowledge of the health care industry in the greater Baltimore region.

She has held positions with the Mayor's Office of Employment Development, Baltimore County Workforce Development Center and Kaplan Higher Education where she provided professional skill development and job placement for allied health programs.

Barbara holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Maryland. She is a certified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator administrator and member of the Maryland Career Development Association.

Consultants

BACH enlists the expertise of a small group of professionals who provide additional resources to help develop and manage an ever-growing list of programs and services.

Barbara Hopkins is a principal of Quick Study Consulting, LLC, providing management advice to the not-for-profit sector. Previously, she served as vice president for external affairs at Baltimore City Community College and in several other capacities during her 11-year tenure. Barbara earned a master's degree in public management from the University of Maryland School of Public Affairs and a J.D. from the university's School of Law. Her work with BACH includes data analysis, strategic planning and career mapping.

Theone Relos works with BACH on communications planning, Web site development, career maps and collateral materials. She operates her own communications consultancy, Relos & Associates, and has 20 years of experience in executive management and institutional/organizational communications and marketing in corporate, higher education and other nonprofit settings. She directed communications, public relations and marketingefforts for two of Maryland's largest community colleges—Anne Arundel and Montgomery—the University of Maryland and many professional associations. She holds a master's degree in government and public affairs from Hood College and a bachelor's in communications from Boston University.

Melissa Tillett, an education consultant, manages BACH's Bridge and Summer Accuplacer programs. She taught in Anne Arundel County Public Schools, the Maryland Department of Education and at Anne Arundel Community College. She earned a bachelor of arts in interdisciplinary studies and master's of education in reading from Towson University. Melissa also holds a J.D.from the University of Baltimore School of Law and is a member of the Maryland Bar.

James Tschechtelin is adjunct professor of business and management at the Univeristy of Maryland University College. He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Anne Arundel Community College and on the college's foundation board. He also coaches two college presidents in Achieving the Dream, a national initiative to help more community college students succeed. Jim served as interim president and then president of Baltimore City Community College beginning in 1990 until his retirement in 2002. Previously, he was executive director of the Maryland State Board for Community Colleges and served in other positions there. Jim received a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas, a master's from Ohio State University and a doctorate in higher education from George Washington University. He has published numerous articles on community colleges and has been recognized locally and nationally for his teaching and administrative skills. He consults with BACH on education issue, workforce development and participated in the math skills roundtable
