Former BACH Participants are Recognized

In the News

During National Nurses Week, University of Maryland Medical Center holds their annual Special Achievements in Nursing Awards event. We are proud that one of our former BACH medical assistant (MA) training participants, Donnell Cobb (who was featured in this article last year). received an Outstanding Nursing Support Staff award. Another, Whitney Locke, was nominated in the same category. The awards booklet explains what makes these medical assistants stand out:

Award Recipient: Donnell Cobb, MA, Surgery Subspecialty Clinic
Donnell was best in his class of interns and the first to receive certification. He started in the Digestive Health Center (DHC) and now works in DHC, Surgery, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as needed. Sometimes he works in all three departments in a single day. While he is very knowledgeable, he is down-to-earth, humble, and puts others first. He is always cheerful and willing to assist his co-workers. Both employee and patient satisfaction has improved as a result of his work. He also leads marathons to support health-related causes, including the AHA heart walk. Donnell is a role model to everyone in the community.

Nominee: Whitney Locke, Otolaryngology Outpatient Center
With her bubbly personality, Whitney is beloved by staff, providers, and patients. In a short time, she has learned almost every aspect of how our clinic functions. She is independent, hardworking, and a model employee. Her support for the team is phenomenal.

Congratulations, Donnell and Whitney! We are so proud of you!
