BACH Receives Grads2Careers Grant

In light of the critical shortage of medical assistants in the Baltimore area, the Grads2Careers program has granted BACH funding for 15 Baltimore City high school graduates who may not see traditional college as an option but are seeking an occupation that has growth potential.

The training will be offered at the CCBC Randallstown Campus. Clinical work will take place at University of Maryland Medical Center and LifeBridge Sinai Hospital. During the training program Springboard Community Services will meet with participants as a group and individually to ensure their success. Upon completion of training, BACH will provide coaches to mentor participants as they apply for jobs, deal with issues related to job performance, manage family life and financial issues that impact their ability to retain employment, and plan for career advancement.

Once participants successfully complete the program, they will sit for the national certification exam through NHA (National Healthcareer Association) to be credentialed as a CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant).
